So you can paint …
So you can paint and draw freehand with both of these programs, but which allows you the most in the way of assistive devices like rulers and grid lines and all that?

Photoshop helps me …
Photoshop helps me with rulers when I need it, but mostly I begin with pencil and bristol paper and is when I define the structure of the illustration. I use corel painter to work with oily textures. The finish and editions are with photoshop.

i used corel painter X is very important to use the oily brush and oily blender… and to use the color of flesh and shadows picking from photos.
