This was in October …
This was in October 2006. All the data here is the same for SATA. There are very little differences for SATA but the major one being that when the channel is reset the card has to be reset as it seems it does not reset like it does on PATA.

I am beginner of leraning computer, I bought new laptop and I also got recovery DVD-rom set windows XP. I got virus in my laptop and i want to make it clear. and in the hard disk there are not important things to save, so I would like to put the recovery cd to up grade, But I forgot wich button that I need to press, Please Advise… Thanks

my hard drive is …
my hard drive is starting to click. :-(. Gonna have to get a new one. No need for data recovery. I haven’t got any porn or music I can’t re-download. haha. Any good ideas on how to totally destroy it after it completely fucks up? I was thinking making a tiny ANFO bomb to blow it up, but then I decided I’d probably go to jail for that. Any ideas?

I’ve seen people …
I’ve seen people take a sledge hammer to their old hd on yt. Seen them scrape the head on the platter and destroy the platter, but I’ve not seen anyone blow up the hd with ANFO on yt. It is an original idea, but I have a feeling if I put a video of that on yt the FBI would come talk to me.

the HDD in my old …
the HDD in my old pc makes a scraping noise when i turn the pc on. its as if something is touching the disc as it’s spining. as a result of this my pc wont boot. it displays errors in the bios. everything else is fine but the HDD is causing the system not to boot.
anybody know how to fix this?

Hi …
Something else I wanted to mention, I had a stuck file once, I tried to delete it using all means, nothing worked. I did notice it did not have an ending to the file name like example: .exe .dsc etc. and it was showing up as 0kbs. I decided to do a fresh reinstall of windows XP home.

i took the …
i took the harddrive out of my mom laptop when it was on hibernate.. and i didnt noe. and when i put it bak in it came up to the screen that says “Resuming Windows” and it wont resume it and it doesnt have the loading bar

when the laptop boots up wait for a few secs and push and hold down the power button and let it turn off.Then power it on and it should ask you “Do you want to delete hibernation files?” say yes and it should boot up!
