Is there a way I …
Is there a way I can make my clips look more like professional music videos from MTV, as if shot with a film camera? Mine look “too real”, kind of too “sharp” (my comcorder is a good one). Are there any filters or effects I can use to achieve that movie-like picture (maybe in Adobe After Effects)? Thanks much.

I’ve never tried it …
I’ve never tried it, but it can probably be done with Premiere. Check Adobe’s website, lots of Premiere Pro tutorials and user forums with questions like these. Sorry I can’t help.

Anywhere from $250 …
Anywhere from $250 to $800. Do a couple searches on the internet for “Premiere Pro on sale” and “Premiere Pro academic software discount”.

You can try …
You can try de-interlacing a clip, see if that helps. When possible, give it a little slow-motion (95% or so). There are plug-ins like Magic Bullet for that effect. Check the Adobe forums for “film-look” topics. And do a search on the internet for “film-look effects for digital video”. Good luck with it.

The Magic Bullet …
The Magic Bullet software is available through the red giant website at a promotional rate of $150. We just bought it and are loving it… it is like After Effects only much more extensive and will run with premiere pro… all sorts of great effects, washes, etc… you might even be able to download it free somewhere on line…

Yeah you can …
Yeah you can de-interlace but there are easier ways say you start your project in Adobe Premiere Pro and save it you can import it into After Effects since After Effects will only support a few number of formats and since the composition settings can be annoying it will give you all of your footage except for portions but that is just me. Try motion tracking and masking and decreasing the opacity by a little.

I’m not sure …
I’m not sure exactly what effect you’re looking for, but use the Motion effect (in your Effects Controls panel) to zoom and drag. Check Adobe’s Premiere pages (knowledge base and tutorials) for tips and tricks like these.

i see its like just …
i see its like just for close up editing. like photoshop where you can can zoom into specific area of the Frame. or does premiere not have that?

I’m sorry but I’m …
I’m sorry but I’m 100% beginner. Tried ur methods and exported it as avi file, but how come this 01:22 minutes long file end up 298MB? How to downsize it?
And I’v noticed that you can cut video into clips and drag them at will, but you can not do that to audios, right?
December 25th, 2007 at 11:26 am
You have to export …
You have to export as another format (wma, quicketime, etc.) using Premiere’s “encoder” (in the export dialog) to reduce the file size. And you can move audio separately, but you have select just the audio first if it’s tied to the video. Read those Help Menus! (my best advice)

Whenever I try to …
Whenever I try to put a clip in from the Import section it closes the program?

“put a clip in”…? …
“put a clip in”…? Do you mean import a clip into your project… into your Project Window? Or put it into the Timeline from your Project Window? Or open it into your Source Monitor? And is it an avi. clip… or another format that Premiere supports?

need help: how can i put 2 sound clips at once? with one of them a bit louder then the other?
January 16th, 2008 at 2:25 pm
Just put the sound …
Just put the sound clips on two audio tracks and adjust their volume from there. If you’re not sure how to do that, check the Help Menus (the quickest way to find answers).

great tuts by the …
great tuts by the way, i use cyberlink powerdirector and that is a great program, if you are familiar with this can i just ask if premier has enough extra features that warrents me spendnign money on premier even though i have power director? thanks ( 5* )
January 19th, 2008 at 1:34 pm
I wasn’t familiar …
I wasn’t familiar with Power Director, but after a quick look on their site, that might be all you need for “home movies” and such. If you were doing lots of editing (like with a business), you’d want a little more. Premiere has the chromakey, superimpose, mattes, etc. If you’re a student, get Premiere from an academic-discount site. Can’t beat the price.
