about problems if you really work (except internet surfing); any os will give you a bit of hard time now and then but Linux community work 24×7 to soften those edges :-D my two cents

Its always worth replacing windows. Benefits are always a far faster UI response, and by human terms, thats the most important. Linux doesnt hang as spectacullar. Eye candy on linux always has been far far easier to use.

  18. fishinwada Says:

    OK, Ubuntu linux is …
OK, Ubuntu linux is not a bitch to install or startup. Just download a program called wubi, it partions your hardrive and installs ubuntu, while your in windows/ mac osx… it doesnt efect windows or mac osx in any way… when your system boots up you have a chioce beetween windows/mac osx and ubuntu, so its dual-booting

  19. fishinwada Says:

    if you use a …
if you use a program called wine it lets you use windows programs on linux (yes including games)… google it, its free

Ya, I understand, but if you actually switch from windows to ubuntu(if your not experienced with linux) download the live cd it lets you run linux without installing it so that you can get used to it

  22. haydegger Says:

    Yea, but not every …
Yea, but not every program works. Try running the latest photoshop. You won’t be able to run it and even if you were, it would be too slow. BUT, i am playing Warcraft III Frozen Throne right now on Ubuntu, and it works great (thanks to wine)

  23. mozgreen Says:

    I too have found …
I too have found Feisty to be excellent with heaps of useful software. I’ve installed it on friends’ machines when they have lost patience with W****** and had no complaints, yet. However, Interesting as it looks, the sound signal:noise ratio on this vid makes it unusable. Am I the only one to be unable to hear much?

    uhhhhh….wow lol

    uhhhhh….wow lol
ok first off i am using Using Ubuntu/Xubuntu Linux with Beryl GUI and i love it…well my comp is horrible but besides that it is awsome, i havent really tried and games or major windows apps with WINE because my current comp cant handle graphics, but seriously i would consider getting a live CD of Ubuntu and using dual boot if u like Ubuntu, look up beryl on youtube for

  25. onefrozenheart Says:

    some examples of …
some examples of what beryl can do….Linux is a very good OS and is really hard to get viruses on and most windows apps can run on it and the ones that cant they have open sources variants for it…it is also free and almost all of the apps for it are free, so if u have windows or make make a live CD of ubuntu and if u do get it i would recomend a dual boot just because linux canat do EVERYTHING windows/mac can do.

ya sry cooment was to long so read the comment below this 1 first
