Trying to make my Ubuntu operating system crash by: burning a DVD, scanning a image, watching a DVD, opening and closing numerous programs all at the same on a AMD XP 2600 with 512 Ram and 50GB HD. Had the Boinc program running at 100% as well.

its fast i’m jast starting with linux ubuntu 7.04 i’m enjoing it butt it keep crashing when i open firefox with flash contents in it can anybody help me?

It’s a continuing …
It’s a continuing problem. Have a look on google for a solution, I’m trying to fix it for myself at the moment. The current idea is that there’s actually two flash plugins installed conflicting with eachother. To get rid of the hanging type “killall firefox-bin” (no quotes) at a terminal, but it should be possible to fix it fully.

I did a similar …
I did a similar test on Windows Vista and found that not only does it become unresponsive the programs refuse to close with a gui method. Same hardware Ubuntu Gutsy still ran compiz effects with all the programs running.
