umm ya.. that’s …
umm ya.. that’s done with a particle generator… another program outside after effects.
You create a matte where you want the particles to generate, and where they die, and just do it like that.
I don’t know exactly how to do it, I just know the method with which it is accomplished

is this DV footage? How did you get such a good track first time round? I can never get the tracking points in a place that will get them to track as well as yours did.

Hey GREAT tutorial man, thanks alot it really helped, but I have one question.
A big bright-green rectangular is not really… a great special effect, is there any way to, for instance, in stead of the green rectangular you’d put Mickey Mouse or something, anything, parented to the null object?
I’m kinda new to After Effects…

ya, the rectangle …
ya, the rectangle was just an example of how parenting works. I used it because it was a bright object, and easily seen.
You can parent anything in your comp. Including pictures and video. Something fun is to parent chroma keyed video to say…the top of a rooftop

hey i have a question, its not about editing really, but how do i get the sound on the video, when i export it so i can see it in another program it doesnt have sound, and it doesnt have sound in after effects either, but other than that i think im doing pretty good, i can do the traditional energy blasts lol

try RAM preview to …
try RAM preview to hear sound, cuz after effects renders for time efficiency, so video is rendered first before.
See if that works.. im not sure if i answered your question though?
