Zombie computers, …
Zombie computers, is that sorta like “phishers” on myspace where someone or something somehow, someway, stills your password, and use your account to spam and advertise to your friends pretending to be you when obviously it’s not. that is soooooo anoying! anyways thanx for the advice, some people are not up to date with computers.

The ISP that hosts …
The ISP that hosts my personal website was hit with a Denial of Service attack last month. Also, no matter how many times I admonish my friends, some of them still send out mass emails with everybody’s address in plain view. People don’t seem to be aware that doing this helps perpetuate spam for everybody.

Interesting..
May I have a question for you ?
Actually I could use automatic updates of my anti-virus software..
I have to update it by manual.I mean day by day..update over and over… so annoying
Yes updating your old one to new one is so
annoying.
Is there any good anti-virus software that does not need updates? or provide automatic updates ?
I forgot about updates often so my laptop should end up as walking zombie or warehouse of worms.
Glad for seeing you doing this.

All antivirus/ …
All antivirus/spyware software needs to be updated because the creeps writing malware are always cooking up new versions. I use the Automatic setting so that I do not forget to do the updates. All it takes is for the wrong bug to infect my machine and I could lose all of my data in a blink.

Another reason I like TrendMicro, it just automatically renewed my subscription aftering notifying me for over a week it was going to do so. Good, that’s one more thing I don’t need to take the time to do. In the two years I’ve been using PC-cillin, I’ve never been hacked, virused or been prey to other serious malware. A very happy TM customer!

To have a secured …
To have a secured PC one needs to have a little brain with a little common sense.Few basic rules to follow are don’t use internet with admin account.Set a S/W firewall like sygate and have an updated antivirus installed.Keep your browser updated Scan files before opening which are downloaded from sites especially from porn/warez sites.I had been using internet for about 8 years without any major threat rooted into my system. From my experience i could say CA/Avast are the best in class.

Macs & PCs both …
Macs & PCs both have strengths and weaknesses. PCs are better suited to what I use computers for, Mac is a better choice for others. I am not going to permit these comments to become a Mac vs PC forum, so if anyone intends to start that debate here, don’t bother.

very interesting.
i must say one thing tho, i have used very anti virus and spyware remover
the best spyware remover i come across
webroot spysweeper it even detects trojans.
and best antivirus would be Avg,
and finally firewall.. i must agree
2 firewalls.
hardware, and software.
and another thing i agree with is common sense
use these all above and no one can touch you.
