   A thing I might …
   A thing I might suggest instead of Booleans, because Booleans can cause a lot of troubles I might actually use Chamfer. Just select a single vert and chamfer it to create maybe another 15 verts like you did with you’re cylinder and scale them up to get the size of a circle you want then extrude the surface down.
