Just wanted to let you know I’m on this, and that my question did get answered (for now). Audacity will work on both of these machines. And that mic looks VERY interesting. I’m not quite ready for a $3000 studio mic yet…

Hey Virgil! I have a MXL 990 (non-usb version) and it is actually a pretty nice sounding mic for the price. I used it plugged directly into my mixer for a couple of years before getting a Tube MP Studio and C-com to run it through and now it has surprisingly good sound for what is cost.

Very cool - I actually use a RØDE NT-1, run that through an ART Studio V# Tube preamp directly into an Edirol FA-101(10/10 in out digital sound module) It’s what everyone hears Leah’s voice running through - pretty amazing sound for sure. If ya can find quality at a low price, yer hittin it on the head - that’s what happened with the RØDE!!!
