    Of course you can …
    Of course you can use ie, wmp and firefox if the os is the base of xp. Yes 2000 is xp without some of the xp services, resources and eye candy. XP flourished so much because of directx 9. I used 2000 for about 5 years and it was great.

    XP was a departure of what can be called “windows classic” and is one major reason for its success over 2k

    I was searching other things and I arrived here… err, just one thing, as already one commented to you, XP is just 2000.

    2000 runs great, of course!!!! It is the base of XP without the “trash” that comes with XP.

    I’m using it now over 6 years now after years of use of NT 4.0 and I don’t change them for XP… for millions of reasons.

    I think Windows Millennium had such a bad name, it tinted Windows 2000.
