AJAX frameworks have allowed developers to improve the web by making it easier to build high quality applications that users love. This session discusses how the Google Web Toolkit (GWT) can be combined with new technologies to build even better applications. More details on this session will be provided at Developer Day.

Speaker Bio: Dan joined Google Developer Programs in 2006 to help developers become successful with the Google Web Toolkit and other products. Before joining Google, Dan was a computer scientist at GE Research, where he gave himself headaches by switching between web development in JavaScript and circuit design in Verilog. Dan lives in Atlanta with his wife, two cats, and lots of video games.

Brad Neuberg is an internationally-recognized software inventor in the fields of collaboration and online applications. His passion is inventing amazing ideas and then doing the hard work to make them real. He has extensive experience in the open source community, contributing code to Dojo, Mozilla, JXTA, the Jakarta Feed Parser, and more.Duration : 0:52:54

Google Gears: Building Better AJAX applications

AJAX applications are at the core of web development, providing both opportunities and challenges. We’ll be discussing some of the ways we can address those challenges in this session. More details will be provided at Developer Day.

Aaron Boodman started life as a musician, a mistake he rectified early to the delight of his teachers and dormmates. Suddenly finding himself with more time on his hands, he taught himself to program and began experimenting with and writing about the collection of technologies that became known as “AJAX” many years later. His work from 2000-2001 continues to be referenced and reused today in modern JavaScript toolkits. More recently, he is the creator of Greasemonkey, a popular browser extension that allows people to “mash up” websites using JavaScript. At Google he works on experimental web technology, and occasionally lends a hand on UI for products like Gmail, Reader, and Blogger.Duration : 0:33:28

WWWorkspace is a web based Java integrated development environment built on top of Eclipse. It allows you to carry your workspace around with you and code from any computer with a web browser.
